Fruit Smoothie
This is a great refreshment that combines abundant amounts of protein and monounsaturated fat. Fruits or vegetables in the mix are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Extra virgin olive oil provides an additional source of antioxidants as well as flavor.
Ingredients
- Fresh and frozen fruit of your choice (strawberries, grapes, melon, apple chunks, peeled oranges or any fruit that mixes well).
- Milk (Cow’s milk, almond, rice or soy).
- Raw almonds, rolled oats, and or protein powder (can purchase at Costco or Sprouts) for added protein. Plain yogurt is also high in protein.
- Honey or Stevia drops (purchase Stevia at Ralphs, Sprouts, Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe’s) if needed for a bit more sweetener.
- Ice cubes or crushed ice
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Any supplements, green drink mix. You can even put in a handful of spinach.
Instructions
- Place ingredients into blender in the order listed and blend.
